All of our items (unless stated as new) are pre-loved and therefore will have seen some wear over the years.  Our enamel may be chipped and our copper and brass will have the lovely patina built up over years (we wash copper, brass and some silver but we do not polish it, however, it is easy for you to polish these pieces with a standard appropriate shop bought cleaning agent if you like your metal shiny).

If there is a chip, crack, crazing or knock to an item we will a) show it in our photos and b) note it in the description.

Sometimes these old pieces come with a smell.  Al items that we are able to wash are washed with hot water and washing up liquid, most linens are put through a hand wash in the machine.  Unused linens/tourchons or other fabric/delicate items are not washed.  Despite all this, sometimes that smell just lingers and becomes part of the piece.

Colours do vary from screen to screen so please bear this in mind when you receive your item if it isn’t exactly the same shade in ‘real life’.
